My brother is a jazz pianist in a group called Torio - they are preparing for a competition in Belgium in a couple weeks, and I sat in on their rehearsal today and did these quick sketches.

I've been working in a store and occasionally sitting in delicatessens. Brent's is a really great deli. I went there the other night and drank a cup of tea, to soothe a strained throat. (I had a cold - gone now, thankfully.) Developing a good work regiment around minimum wage and post-college ennui is a challenge, but I'm hoping it's a challenge I can rise to.

Abaddon

Described in the Revelation of St. John, Abaddon is "the king of tormenting locusts and angel of the bottomless pit" (and sometimes considered to be the antichrist). Heavy, right? I'd been interested in drawing some of the darker/more mysterious figures (or monsters) from biblical scripture, and Abaddon seemed like a fun one to tackle first, given our mutual interest in insects.
