Abaddon

Abaddon, originally uploaded by nivbavarsky.

Mixed media & Digital, 11 x 14

Described in the Revelation of St. John, Abaddon is "the king of tormenting locusts and angel of the bottomless pit" (and sometimes considered to be the antichrist). Heavy, right? I'd been interested in drawing some of the darker/more mysterious figures (or monsters) from biblical scripture, and Abaddon seemed like a fun one to tackle first, given our mutual interest in insects.

Abaddon is cool because he is not only the person, but the place as well. This is dope, btw. Your pencils are as good as anybody's (seriously).

Thanks, Julia! It means a lot, coming from you. I hope one day as I'm idly doodling my hair suddenly bursts into a glowing yellow.
